He groomed her, seducing her into his lair by using every trick in the book. He couldn’t get it up but he still hankered for the pleasure of the old times.
The old boy played his full deck of cards, with a couple more up his sleeves. Sometimes, the jealous women were pitted against one another in cat fights.
He had them in every form and color.
He was 74 back in 2004, when it all began. She was 38. It started when he stalked her and pretended to have an interest in her work. She was flattered to have an older, established writer, take interest in her humble writings and poetry.
One day, Andy offered Barbie a part time, freelance job. She took the bait. He was happy she bit his hook and fell for him, line and sinker. Andy gave Barbie some editing work to do on his book. He paid her the first time. But that was about the only time he paid her for any work done. He was a tight wad.
Slowly, Andy sold Barbie the idea of reading his books but he wasn’t giving them to her free of charge. Again, he used the ruse of offering her a free copy of one book, to bait her. Then when she was hooked, she had to buy the entire collection.
Andy sold Barbie the idea of editing his books for money. However, he never paid up beyond the first book. Barbie was hurt but she couldn’t bring herself to ask Andy for her dues. Call it foolishness, call it being a softie at heart, but Barbie was a real sweetheart who was often cheated because she was afraid to speak up.
