Everyone knows that a werewolf shows up on the night of a full moon. The question is where can we safely see a werewolf without being bitten by one? You can try hunting for a werewolf in the emergency ward of your local hospital.

A hospital in northern Sydney, Australia, has reported cases of patients being admitted while showing odd behavior.

The patient was usually admitted on a night of full moon and showed werewolf-like behavior. Some symptoms were biting, spitting, scratching and attacking the medical staff. Such symptoms were allegedly described as werewolf-like symptoms.

How did the hospital deal with such symptoms? The patient is usually sedated and physically restrained.

How does a person transform into a werewolf? According to different mythologies, people may undergo metamorphosis by using a special ointment. This cream contained belladonna and nightshade.

Belladonna and nightshade are mind control drugs that influence the mind to produce hallucinations, delirium and delusions. Some of these effects may give the delusion of having gone through a metamorphosis. The user of belladonna and nightshade may be deceived to think that she or he has morphed into a werewolf or some strange creature.

Some the behaviors like spitting, scratching and biting may be expressions of conscious copying of animal like behavior after being influenced by drugs.

The modern werewolf inducement may come from drugs and alcohol. About 60% of the cases involving werewolf symptoms revealed that the patients took alcohol and/ or drugs.

Why did people take drugs or alcohol during a full moon? One speculated theory was that the gravity pull of the moon may somehow influence certain people. Former patients of violent behavior and behavior disturbances are more prone to show such behaviors during a night with a full moon.
