Have you ever read a story about a death or a miracle and felt you connected? Sometimes, I read such stories that cause a strange reaction. It feels like an affirmation of the event. I felt that way when I first read about the death of Michelle Lang.
Michelle Lang, 34, died on Wednesday, December 30. Lang died on the battlefront in a remote area near Kandahar, in Afghanistan. Lang was a TV news reporter who was on her first assignment in Afghanistan. Lang was sent there on December 11.
On Dec 30, Lang was riding in an armored vehicle when a bomb landed on them. Lang died in the vehicle, along with the soldiers who were manning the ground patrol. Lang was engaged to be married and she was also excited in her first reporting assignment in Afghanistan.
When I first read about Michelle Lang, I felt goose bumps on my body. I wasn’t sure what it meant but felt Michelle or somebody was trying to send a message. I think it was an affirmation of Lang’s death.
Michelle Lang, RIP.
